Boca Center looked like a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean on Friday, January 19 as the Rotary Club of Boca Raton held its Boca Buccaneer Bash to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Guests went all out in pirate attire and gathered in the courtyard of Boca Center to sample delights from participating restaurants during the “Grog” portion of the evening, otherwise known as cocktail hour. Morton’s served up tasty steak sandwiches and chocolate martinis, Cucina D’Angela provided delicious pizza, and Uncle Thai’s delighted all with spring rolls. We have to say Opus 5 was the best with tuna tar tar and lamb. Big City hosted martini bars which were a big hit.

After the Grog, Rotarians proceeded to the Boca Raton Marriott to continue the revelry during the sitdown “feast.”
All proceeds raised during the evening helped support the Rotary Club’s goals of encouraging literacy, feeding Boca Raton’s working poor and helping at risk children. Specifically the funds raised went toward the Rotary Club’s children’s reading room at the new library downtown, the Rotary of Boca Raton’s Dining Hall at Boca Helping Hands, and the Haven. |
