Absinthe, the swanky lounge at Boca Center, was the site for Freaky Friday, hosted by BAM, the young friends’ auxiliary of the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Young professionals and art lovers gathered in costume and enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and music on the covered terrace. DJ Russell Griffin played tunes while revelers danced the night away.

Costumes included several witches, two prisoners, Absinthe’s own fairies, Andy Warhol, The Devil Wears Prada, count Dracula, and even Elvis.

At least two dozens members of the Arkansas State Football team, staying at the Marriott to play FAU the next day, even joined the party and danced along with party guests. Although the players did not eat or drink, it was interesting to note that FAU beat them badly the next day.

BAM, an auxiliary of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, is a volunteer support organization comprised of emerging and established professionals who represent a new generation of support for the Museum.  BAM continuously promotes the importance of including culture and art, and the rewards of volunteerism, in the active lives of young professionals. Targeted age range: 30's to 50's.

BAM organizes many exciting, artistic events throughout the year at our Museum and in local area establishments, which help promote the arts, and create Museum awareness, while giving local professionals a venue for business and social networking, all while supporting the Museum.  BAM is searching for individuals who will be our next leaders involved within our community and committed to making a difference for the Museum¹s longevity. For more information on BAM, please call the BAM Hotline at 561.392.2500, ext. 216. or visit www.bocamuseum.org.
