The Green Room Society (GRS), the young patrons group of Miami’s Carnival Center for the Performing Arts, celebrated the world premiere of Natasha Tsakos’ Up Wake on Thursday, November 30 with the first “Meet & Greet” party in the lobby of the Studio Theater. Sponsored by Southern Wine and Spirits and Gisnesia Design, Inc. the celebration was attended by nearly 200 chic Miamians eager to help shape the cultural landscape of Miami by supporting shows and events at Carnival Center - the new art and soul of Miami.
Guests at The Green Room Society “Meet & Greet” party included GRS co-chair Amy Rosenberg; Russ Davis, CEO of The Pawn Shop Lounge; Giselle Dove and Annesia Pyfrom, principals of Gisnesia Design; Beth Boone, artistic & executive director of Miami Light Project; Rebekah Lengel, director of marketing and communications for Miami Light Project; artist and Up Wake collaborator Octavio Campos; and Harvey Burstein, chairman of the board of Miami Beach Arts Center Trust.
Guests enjoyed “Green Light” cocktails, the signature GRS drink, and a gourmet satay station prepared by Restaurant Associates, which included skewers of spicy grilled chicken, marinated steak and jumbo shrimp with an array of exotic sauces for dipping. Colorful gift boxes, courtesy of Gisnesia Design, included gourmet cookies and a special blend of coffee.

The Green Room Society (GRS) is Carnival Center for the Performing Arts young professionals’ membership group for individuals interested in shaping Miami’s growing cultural landscape. GRS is dedicated to celebrating Miami’s Carnival Center and supporting the wide array of Center-presented performances, with an emphasis on the Studio Theater and theatrical presentations considered to be cutting edge. The group is committed to developing & expanding audiences and building a significant community of young individuals who have a passion for the performing arts. Their efforts are essential to the future success of Carnival Center and to the performing arts in South Florida.
Members make annual contributions of $250 or more. Their generosity and vital work for the Center is rewarded through numerous benefits, which include exclusive first notice e-mails about upcoming shows and special offers, special access to cocktails parties, performances and educational activities, giving them a unique entrée into the Center and the performing arts as a whole.
Contributions from the GRS help support the Center’s commitment to diversify, broaden and strengthen its audience through arts & education programs in the community for young people and their families from a variety of ethnic, geographic and socio-economic backgrounds.
